Step 1: Backup Your Website
Use a plugin like UpdraftPlus or BackupBuddy to create a full backup before updating.
Step 2: Check for Theme Updates
Once you login to your WordPress dashboard you will notice on the top black banner there will be two arrows pointing in a circular motion. If there’s a number beside that icon, that means plugins/themes may need updating.
Click on that icon and it will load the update page that will include all plugins/themes that need updating.
Step 3: Update Avada
- Scroll down until you get to themes, and select the empty check box.
- Now click on Update Themes.
- Click Update Now.
- WordPress will download and install the latest version.
- Once completed, check your site to ensure everything is working properly.
Step 4: Update Avada Builder Plugins
Once you update the Avada Builder, it may bring you to another page and click on Begin Updating Plugins.
Step 5: Update Avada Builder Patch(s)
On the right side of your dashboard, under the Avada menu you will see Patcher. If there is a number beside it, click on it and update those patches. If there is no number, there is nothing for you to do.
Once you click on Patcher, scroll down until get to the patch and then click on all the blue buttons Apply. Or click on the single button that says Apply All Patches.
