Non-Commercial Use Commissions are artworks that clients are permitted to use for personal purposes.
Clients have the freedom to print the artwork, display it online (with appropriate credit whenever possible), and showcase it according to their preferences.
However, the sale of any materials featuring or derived from the commissioned piece is strictly prohibited. If the client wishes to utilize the artwork for commercial purposes at a later stage, this can be discussed, and an additional fee will be applicable.

Commercial Art 30–50% of the base price
Example: 1 Single Character Design commission costs $304. (304+30% = $395).
If you are using our art/character for commercial uses/primarily advertising: Commercial art uses a variety of platforms (magazines, websites, apps, television, etc.) for viewers with the intent of promoting the sale and interest of products, services, and ideas. You need to purchase the additional add Commercial Addon.
We, the artist, maintain ownership of said artwork for my own personal and commercial use and to display it on my portfolio and social media.
Exclusive Ownership 150% of the baseline price of the artwork
Example: 1 Single Character Design commission costs $200. (200+150% = $500).
Exclusive Rights Commissions grant clients full ownership of the artwork, transferring not only the physical piece but also all related rights (intellectual property). Only the client has permission to use and sell the artwork, while the artist’s ability to showcase it on social media and in their portfolio will be subject to negotiation with the client.
About The Process
What is your process for creating character art?
Once we approve your character project and payment is received, you will need to send us:
- Examples of styles
- Images for character references
- Images for background and weapons etc
- Explain thoroughly what you would like
After a few days, you will receive an email with a few sketches and from there you can provide feedback.
Once feedback is exchanged, we will apply changes and then after a few days or weeks, you will start to receive the files as they are being colored in. During that point, you can request final changes before final touches.
You ca request up two 3 different revisions.
How long does it take to complete a commission?
Generally a single artwork can take anywhere from 1–2 weeks. However, this depends on the complexity of the project.
Do you offer progress updates?
First progress, we will show you the sketches that we have completed.
Second progress, once we start coloring in you will receive the updates.
Third progress, as we conclude the project you will receive one last update.

What is included in the base price?
Full Body. Simple Color background and Seinen Anime Style/Realistic Anime Style
Do you offer payment plans?
- A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required upfront to secure the commission.
- The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the artwork before the final files are delivered.
What payment methods do you accept?

Are there any additional fees?
It depends on your project:
- Full body or half
- Color or black and white
- Complex background or simple
- Weapons or physical characteristics
- Commercial use
It all depends on your project and if its more complex than we anticipated, there will be additional costs.
About Customization
Can you draw [specific style or feature]?
Wings, horns, fantasy features etc
Can you incorporate [specific details, like tattoos, weapons, or clothing]?
Yes, we can! However, tattoos, weapons and complex fantasy features, fantasy clothes etc will be charged extra
Can you work from a description, or do I need to provide reference images?
Image references works best and descriptions in detail.
About Revisions and Edits
How many revisions are included?
1st revision, the sketch stage. If you don’t like the body position etc
2nd revision, once we begin the coloring stage.
3rd revision, very minor changes like color of the eyes.
What if I want changes after the final piece is delivered?
Major changes incur a fee. Any major changes should have been requested at the 1st stage, when we delivered the sketches.

Communication and Collaboration
How do we communicate during the process?

Can I see sketches before you move on to coloring?
Yes, before we move on to the coloring stage you will first receive sketches.
What if I’m not sure what I want?
Browse images on Pinterest or Google before proceeding to book with us.
About Deadlines and Rush Orders
Can you finish by [specific date]?
No. When we finish, will depend on the complexity of your project and whatever else is happening with life. We work Monday to Friday. No weekends.
Do you charge extra for rush commissions?
Right now, we are not accepting rushed commissions.
Refunds and Cancellations
What is your refund policy?
The 50% upfront deposit is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including client-initiated cancellations. Once a commission is booked and payment is made, no refunds will be issued for any reason. This includes but is not limited to:
- Client cancellation or change of mind
- Client doesn’t know what they want
- Client didn’t provide enough information to complete project
- Missed deadlines due to lack of client communication
- Failure to complete the final payment
No Refunds for Completed Work: Once the artwork is completed, delivered and final payment was received by us Crown Nine Studio, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
Exceptions for Unforeseen Circumstances: If the artist is unable to complete the commission due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, emergency), a full refund will be issued to the client.
What happens if I need to cancel my commission: the non-refundable deposit will not be refunded. Clients may request to reschedule their commission to a later date, subject to the artist’s availability. Requests for rescheduling must be made in writing and approved by the artist.
Artist-Initiated Cancellations: If the artist needs to cancel the commission due to unforeseen circumstances, the client will receive a full refund unless alternative arrangements are agreed upon.
